We wake up really early on Wednesday and the day was cloudy so we decided to do some trekking around the island. First we went to a bakery shop to have some breakfast and also we bought some bread and cheese to make sandwiches for our trip. Ilha Grande is a nice island because there are no motor vehicles there, so it was a really relaxing place.
We decided to go around the island instead to go up to the mountain Pico del Papagayo because it was really cloudy. We started our journey to the water fall Cachoeira da Feiticeira and the way was full of mud and Esteve was slipping all the time. His shoes were not really appropriated for this but he managed well and didn't fall at all.
We arrived to the falls after 1 hour and 20 minutes and Esteve jumped inside the water just after arriving there. The water was cold so he just had a quick bath to take some pictures. After we went to Praia de Fora through the slippery trails. It was nice because there was no so many people there so we could have a calm and quiet journey.
In this island, the jungle is really closed to the water, and some beaches doesn't have a place to lay on the beach so we keep walking to the other beach called Saco do Céu and Praia Preta.
For lunch we went to a beach (Saco do Céu) were they sell coconuts and we decided to get one when the girl said that costs only 3 reais. So we had lunch there sitting in the beach with the lovely views. When it was time to go and pay, she said that the cost of the coconut was 10 reais!!!! CRAZY F****** WOMAN!!!
We went back to the slippery trial with 10 reais less in our pockets and with rage for that. It was a really long journey back to the hostel.
After shower we decided to go and get some Caipirinhas on the happy hour time. We went to a nice place where they had live music and we enjoyed the time there with 2 drinks each. I was more happy than usual because of the drinks so I went to sleep straight away xD
On Tuesday we wake up with a lovely sunny day so we went quickly to book a place on a day boat trip to the paradise islands. All the boats were full of people except ours, lucky us!! So we went to the same bakery where we had breakfast the other day to eat something and prepare more sandwiches for the day. Also we bought a mango juice in the supermarket because they said to us that we will have a fridge in the boat were to keep our drinks.
The trip to the islands was nice but with a lot of people every where doing the same. So the paradise islands were nice but a little bit crowded. Even so we spent a nice time there, enjoying the sun, the sea and doing some snorkeling. We visited Praia do Dentista, Ponta da Piedade (church with a sand strip connecting to the island), Botinas Islands, Cataguás Island, Lagoa Azul, late lunch at Praia de Japariz and after we went back to Abraão.
When we arrived to the island we decided to have a Caipirinha again on the same restaurant, but this time only one each xD
On Friday we wake up very early because our boat was at 6:30am to Angra dos Reis. We took all our stuff and we said bye bye to Ilha Grande. We took the same boat than the children take to go to the school. Imagine to live in a island and need a boat for everything...crazy
We took a local bus during 2 hours to Paraty, where we spend the day there exploring the village and having a nice buffet for lunch, where you pay by weight.
After we took the bus to São Paulo, where we arrive at 20h and we went straight to our friend's house. Yasmin and Joan received us with a nice hug. They live in a lovely 14th floor flat with amazing views to all the city. We were tired so we decided to rest early but not before having a Spanish tortilla and pa amb tomaquet for dinner, cooked for our friends!
