We woke up early to take our flight from São Paulo to Foz do Iguaçu. The flight was fine, we had a screen in front of our seat so we could watch a tv serie. I chose to start watching Gotham and Esteve was playing all the time with different games from the screen.
Once we arrived to the small airport, we took a local bus straight to the falls in the Brasilian side. It was fine because they had lockers to leave our backpacks. So we just took our day pack with the rain covers, sun cream, water and all the cameras and we went inside the park.
To get in we took a bus from the park and we walked few meters before to see the big waterfalls. On the way we met a funny animal called coati and also we saw big lizards and some nice and colourful butterflies.
We took a lot of pictures and the views were amazing. We could see from our side the people walking on the Argentinian side, not too far from us.
We spent the day there and in the afternoon we went to the city, to meet our new host Walter, his wife, 5 years old daughter and his dog Bolinha. He show us our room with private toilet and after a quick chat we went to the supermarket to buy something for lunch/dinner.
After dinner we played domino with Walter and Maria, his daughter, game that she loves.
Next morning, we wake up early to have breakfast and went to the falls, but this time to the Argentinian side. We took a local bus to the terminal and after an international bus to cross the border. This second bus left us in front of a taxi that we shared with another couple from Peru to make the trip cheaper. Enrique and Yesenia are a really nice couple. They are from Lima and we told them that we will be there for new year eve.
So we went to get the entrance ticket where I asked for a map. They sent me to another counter to get the map but they sent me inside the natural park to get it because they finished all already at 10am LOL.
Once inside the park we saw that we need to take a train before to start our walk across the park so we went with our new friends to find the train. Then we found the train area closed and I guy asked us for another ticket entrance. We showed him the main ticket entrance and he said that we need a different ticket to get the train, it was free but he pointed us another counter where to get this ticket. Then once we had the correct ticket we showed him and he said that the next train will be in 10 minutes and that until then we can't go. I was really annoyed, we went to 3 different counters, one for the entrance, one for the map and now this 3rd for a free train ticket!!!! Why don't they give all on the 1st place?? Why they have 3 people doing the job that only one person can do?? Anyway, we wait for 10 minutes and 5 more and 10 more and finally we took the train and we started our walk across the park.
We spent all day in the falls with our friends, enjoying the 3 different tracks inside the natural park. We did first the lower one, where we saw all the falls from the bottom, with amazing views. Then we went to the upper itinerary where we were just on top of the fall, we felt like the water that goes down and down. It was amazing being there and watching also all this birds (vencejos) flying inside the water. At the end we went to the Devil Throat (Garganta del Diablo) where we got completely wet and where we saw all the river falling together down and creating this lovely rainbow. Definitely this Argentinian side is my favourite because you can see the falls from 3 different points of view.
Then we went to have lunch in a restaurant with air conditioner (was really hot outside). We had a nice chat with our new friends during all day and we give them our number to keep in touch and to meet us again in Lima for New Year's eve!
After all this long day we went back to Walter's house, we had dinner and we went to sleep early to rest.
